The Door County Job Center is open
to the public Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Resources available are: online job postings on www.jobcenterofwisconsin.com, internet access, assistance in resume/cover letter writing, computer software tutorials, monthly workshops, video’s/DVD’s and a wide range of employment resource materials and Job Fairs offered twice a year. Staff can assist with questions about unemployment, Job Center programs, and educational resources.
FoodShare Employment & Training (FSET)

The FoodShare Employment & Training Program provides job placement services to adults who are receiving FoodShare benefits. The services build or improve employment entry, and retention skills, and foster career development strategies to help maintain self-sufficiency and advance employment goals. Eligibility determination is completed at the Department of Social Services (920) 746-2300. Clients can then volunteer for the FSET program by letting their worker at Social Services know or by contacting Kim Carley at the Job Center.
WETAP -The Door County Transportation Options Program

The goal of the program is to get Door and Kewaunee County residents to work with reliable and dependable transportation. The program can assist adults (over 18) with gas or Door-Tran travel vouchers, vehicle purchase loans, vehicle repair loans, and an employee van pool. Eligibility criteria includes household income guidelines, driving record check, citizenship, and employment.
Wisconsin Works (W-2)

The W-2 Program offers opportunities to qualified individuals to build basic life and work skills in a supportive
work-readiness and training atmosphere.Based on the development of an individualized employment plan, individuals work intensively with staff to help them meet personal challenges, build skills and move toward full employment and self-sufficiency. Eligibility determination is made at the Dept. of Social Services 746-2300; prior to referral for W-2 Program services.
Workforce Investment Act - WIA

WIA is a program that offers employment services to dislocated workers and economically disadvantaged persons. Services include: one-on-one career counseling, assessments of career interests, occupational skills and aptitudes, job search and placement assistance, resume assistance, workshops on interviewing skills, resume writing and job search strategies, and labor market information. WIA can also offer funding assistance for up to two years of occupational skills training for specified “high demand” occupations.
Workforce Investment Act - WIA Older Youth

The Out-of-School Youth Program works with income eligible 18-21 year old dropouts or high school graduates. Case Manager assists youth in gaining skills to succeed in employment and to attain self-sufficiency. Services are provided on an individualized basis, however, enrollment in group workshops and/or training is frequently included in the service plan for program participants. Funds for training may be available.
Youth Employment Services - YES

The YES Program is partnering with educators, employers and community agencies to assist area youth in exploring and achieving their educational and career goals and to develop into productive citizens and potential leaders. Working with all youth especially focusing on teen parents, offenders and drop outs or those at risk of dropping out.
